COMPONENT GUIDE

Worm wheel blank

Bronze worm-wheel position in a reducer or low-speed drive.

Provides the blank from which a specified worm wheel is machined.

Manufacturing & delivery form
Cast solid or ring blank with agreed premachining; tooth cutting specified separately.

A blank is separate from a finished worm wheel. Tooth accuracy and life require the complete drive and finishing specification.

Material candidates

UNS C90700 Tin bronze

Candidate for gear and worm-wheel blanks.

Confirm the mating gear, lubrication and machining scope. An alloy designation does not establish finished gear accuracy.

UNS C90500 Tin bronze

Candidate for drawing-defined gear blanks and selected lubricated components.

Confirm the governing standard, casting form and duty. C90500 and C90700 are distinct grades.

Confirm the drawing, actual duty, material standard and manufacturing condition. Material substitutions require customer approval, and supply scope is agreed after component review.

Component RFQ requirements

Blank structure
Hub/rim configuration, outside diameter, bore, web and drawing revision.
Machining plan
Datums, stock allowance, tooth-cutting responsibility and final acceptance.
Mating worm
Worm drawing, material, interface and specified alignment.
Drive conditions
Load, speed, lubricant and required hardness condition.
Material & acceptance
Specified alloy and standard, supply condition, drawing revision, quantity, inspection criteria and required records.
Supply form
Cast solid or ring blank with agreed premachining; tooth cutting specified separately.

Start with your drawing, specified alloy and quantity. Include the required delivery condition and acceptance records so the manufacturing and inspection scope can be reviewed.
