COMPONENT GUIDE

Gear rim blank

Bronze outer rim joined to the centre of a composite gear.

Provides the ring blank for the specified gear rim and hub connection.

Manufacturing & delivery form
Ring casting blank with agreed turning; assembly and tooth cutting specified separately.

The bronze rim and steel or iron gear centre are separate parts. A finished-gear illustration does not prove blank accuracy.

Material candidates

UNS C90500 Tin bronze

Candidate for drawing-defined gear blanks and selected lubricated components.

Confirm the governing standard, casting form and duty. C90500 and C90700 are distinct grades.

UNS C90700 Tin bronze

Candidate for gear and worm-wheel blanks.

Confirm the mating gear, lubrication and machining scope. An alloy designation does not establish finished gear accuracy.

Confirm the drawing, actual duty, material standard and manufacturing condition. Material substitutions require customer approval, and supply scope is agreed after component review.

Component RFQ requirements

Ring envelope
Inside/outside diameter, width, section and machining allowance.
Hub connection
Centre material, joint geometry, fit and assembly responsibility.
Machining datums
Concentricity, datum faces, tooth-cutting allowance and finish requirements.
Drive duty
Mating gear, load, speed, lubricant and acceptance criteria.
Material & acceptance
Specified alloy and standard, supply condition, drawing revision, quantity, inspection criteria and required records.
Supply form
Ring casting blank with agreed turning; assembly and tooth cutting specified separately.

Start with your drawing, specified alloy and quantity. Include the required delivery condition and acceptance records so the manufacturing and inspection scope can be reviewed.
