COMPONENT GUIDE

Drive nut blank

Lead-screw drive or adjustment mechanism specified with a bronze nut.

Provides a blank for the nut body and agreed thread-machining scope.

Manufacturing & delivery form
Nut casting blank with agreed machining; suitable stock may be considered for small geometry.

The steel screw is a separate component. Nut material alone does not establish precision positioning performance.

Material candidates

UNS C90500 Tin bronze

Candidate for drawing-defined gear blanks and selected lubricated components.

Confirm the governing standard, casting form and duty. C90500 and C90700 are distinct grades.

UNS C95400 Aluminium bronze

Candidate for drawing-defined loaded sliding and wear components.

Review mating material, lubrication and supply condition. C95400 and C95800 are distinct grades.

UNS C86300 Manganese brass / manganese bronze

Candidate for specified heavily loaded sliding parts and nut blanks.

A high-strength brass family, not tin bronze. Confirm the counterface and lubrication; no universal wear-life claim applies.

Confirm the drawing, actual duty, material standard and manufacturing condition. Material substitutions require customer approval, and supply scope is agreed after component review.

Component RFQ requirements

Nut & thread
Body envelope, thread designation, engagement and mating-screw drawing.
Machining scope
Thread responsibility, stock allowance, bore axis and datums.
Movement & load
Axial load, reciprocating speed, cycle and specified backlash.
Contact conditions
Screw material, lubrication and actual operating temperature.
Material & acceptance
Specified alloy and standard, supply condition, drawing revision, quantity, inspection criteria and required records.
Supply form
Nut casting blank with agreed machining; suitable stock may be considered for small geometry.

Start with your drawing, specified alloy and quantity. Include the required delivery condition and acceptance records so the manufacturing and inspection scope can be reviewed.
