Supports the rudder stock in a drawing-defined metallic bearing arrangement. Metallic and composite bearing designs are not interchangeable.

Material options

UNS C95800Nickel-aluminium bronze

An option for seawater-wetted castings where corrosion resistance and strength are important. Casting condition, water quality and flow conditions require review.

UNS C95400Aluminium bronze

A candidate for bearing, gear and wear components where strength and wear resistance are important. Check lubrication, counterface material and service conditions.

Select the grade against the drawing, duty conditions and applicable material standard. These candidates are not interchangeable and do not establish confirmed manufacturing scope.

Stock & housing fit
Stock diameter, bearing length, outside fit, clearance and assembly method.
Bearing surface
Groove arrangement, shaft finish/material, allowable wear and lubrication method.
Rudder duty
Load direction, oscillating movement, immersion conditions and required project acceptance.
Material specification
Alloy designation, governing standard, casting condition and any restricted substances.
Order & acceptance
Drawing revision, quantity, delivery condition, critical tolerances and required inspection records.
